South Los Angeles Man Shot and Killed

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the person responsible for the shooting death of 54-year-old Edward Joe Adams.

On June 20, 2008 at about 7:00 p.m., Adams, a resident of South Los Angeles, was walking near 65th Street and Western Avenue when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect pulled out a 9 millimeter handgun and shot Adams in the chest.

Los Angeles Police officers went to investigate a radio call of a shooting in that area and found Adams collapsed on the sidewalk. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his gunshot wound.

The suspect was only described as a male black. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call South Bureau Homicide Detective Chris Barling at 213-485-1383. After hours and on weekends, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3844).
