15 year-old Shot on Street

Los Angeles: On Saturday, March 31, 2001, at approximately 8:35 p.m., 15 year-old Lamar Christopher Vaden, was standing on the 10200 block of South Western Avenue. An unknown suspect, armed with handgun, approached Vaden and fired several rounds at him for unknown reasons. Vaden sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and died at the scene shooting shortly thereafter. The unknown suspect was last seen running on foot southbound on Western Avenue and then westbound on 103rd Street.
The motive is unknown. The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
