Man Sitting in Car is Shot to Death NR09407kr

Los Angeles: A Los Angeles man was shot and killed early yesterday morning while seated in his car.

On August 18, 2009, at around 2:05 a.m., 49-year-old Thaddeus Risher was sitting in his parked car in the 100 block of East 82nd Place.  Witnesses reported that three suspects walked up to the vehicle and fired multiple shots inside, striking the victim numerous times.   Risher was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.  The precise motive for the killing is unknown, although it may be gang related.

Anyone with information is asked to call Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Criminal Gang/Homicide Group Detectives Armando Bernal or Ernesto Mendoza of the LAPD's 77th Division Homicide Squad at 213-485-1383.  During off-hours and on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247).  Callers may also text "Crimes" with a cell phone or log onto www.lapdonline.org and click on Web tips.  When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with "LAPD".  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
