Los Angeles – On Monday, March 26, 2001, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Heriberto M. Salinas, age 25, was seated in his truck at Ramsgate Avenue and Manchester Boulevard. An unidentified male, Hispanic, approached Salinas’ vehicle on foot and fired several rounds into his vehicle, fatally injuring him. The suspect fled Eastbound on Manchester Boulevard in a 1996-1997, 4 door, dark blue, Honda Accord.
The motive is unknown and the suspect and weapon remains outstanding. The investigation reveals that the incident may have been gang related.
Pacific Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation. Anyone with information can contact Detectives T. Gonzales and R. Vargas at

During the investigation, Detective T. Gonzales, received information that an unknown witness had called the police from a local restaurant, with information regarding the shooting. Detective T. Gonzales is requesting the unknown witness, and anyone else who may have seen the shooting, to contact the Police Department at 310-202-4513.
Captain Williams, Officer-in-Charge of Pacific Operations Support Division, and investigating detectives will be on hand to provide additional information and answer questions at the press conference. Members of Heriberto Salinas’ family will also attend the press conference.
