Los Angeles: The Los Angeles police Department is proud to announce the graduation of 55 new officers. The graduation ceremony combines two recruit classes: Class 7-01 and Class 9-01. The recruit officers successfully completed 1,064 hours of training including; Community and Human Relations, Physical Fitness, Self Defense, Tactics, Patrol Procedures, Spanish, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Firearms, and Use of Force.
The two classes are made up of 50 male officers and 5 female officers. Of the 55 graduates, 25 are Caucasian, 23 are Hispanic, five are Asian/Pacific Islander and one officer is African-American. Furthermore, one officer has a Masters degree, 12 officers have Bachelors degrees and eight officers have Associate of Arts degrees.
