Fifteen Year Old Boy Is Suspect In Shooting Death

Los Angeles: On Friday April 2, 2004, at approximately 9:05 a.m., eighteen year old Edwin Perez was in an upstairs bedroom at 452 South Clarence Street with a friend. Other occupants of the residence heard a single gunshot from the bedroom and went to investigate. Upon entering the bedroom they found Perez lying on a sofa with a single gunshot wound to the chest. A male Hispanic, approximately 15 years of age, was seen running from the location.
Los Angeles City Paramedics responded to the scene to provide emergency treatment to the victim. Perez failed to respond to the treatment and died at the scene.
