Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Hollywood Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who shot and killed a man at a party in Los Angeles.

This morning, around 3:10 a.m., LAPD Hollywood patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence in the 1600 block of North La Brea Avenue.  Once at the scene, they saw an unresponsive man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. LAFD rescue personnel responded and pronounced the man dead. A second victim was also treated for non-life threatening injuries from the shooting.

The Hollywood detective’s investigation revealed that 22-year-old South Central resident; Lorenzo Smith was attending a party when an unknown man began arguing with him. During the dispute, the man used a handgun to shoot Smith and then ran from the scene. Detectives say that this shooting appeared to be gang related.
