MEDIA VIEWING/ STAGING AREA/ POOL CAMERA LOCATIONS:

Media staging and viewing areas have been designated outside the impacted areas and are intended to provide viewing within range of the events.  These areas take into consideration the needs of the media, public and officer safety.

The Los Angeles County courts have designated a Media Staging Area off of Grand Avenue, north of the main doors to the courthouse.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will manage this staging area.  Should the need arise for additional space, the LAPD will accommodate with space on the public sidewalk.

Public parking around the courthouse area is limited.  It is recommend that interested media arrive early and park along the east and west curb on Grand Avenue between First and Temple Streets.  Due to the anticipated large crowd, parking on the sidewalk is prohibited.  At this time, there are no designated street closures anticipated, but changes to this plan may occur as driven by the event.

An LAPD Public Information Officer (PIO) will be on hand to facilitate media coverage and assist the on-scene incident commander.  Any questions related to this plan can be directed to the LAPD Media Relations Section at 213-486-5910.
