Walk a Cop to School

WHAT:
The Los Angeles Police Department's Southeast Area will conduct its third "Walk a Cop to School" program event. Officers from Southeast Area have worked in partnership with the staff at 116th Street School. Officers will pick up children at their homes, and walk them to school. Officers will be discussing traffic safety tips and answering questions during their walk to school.

WHEN:
Wednesday, April 27, 2016
7:15-7:30 - Officers will pick up designated children from their homes.

WHERE:
116th Street School
11610 Stanford Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90061

**116th Place and Stanford/ Officers will door knock various residences and pick up children for school.

**Media wanting to film officers knocking on the doors of children's homes should meet at 116th/Stanford Ave at 7am.**


WHO:
LAPD Captain Lee Sands, Southeast Area Patrol Commanding Officer
Los Angeles Unified School District and the administrative staff at 116th Street Elementary School

WHY:
The program is being established as part of the continuing community outreach to improve traffic safety awareness for children and the community.

Media is encouraged to park around the school.
