Korean Cab Driver Killer Arrested

Oakwood: Pacific Area Homicide Detectives arrested the murderer of Keum Kim, a 59-year-old Korean taxi cab driver. On Wednesday, July 8, 2001, at approximately 1:40 A.M., Kim was stabbed to death while delivering a fare to the 800 block of Brooks Avenue in the Oakwood section of Venice. Kim was robbed and stabbed multiple times by the assailant. On Thursday, August 2, 2001, Pacific Homicide Detectives Bob Vargas and Paul Inabu arrested 21-year-old Antonio Barba, a resident of Santa Monica.
The case was presented to the District Attorney’s Office and one count of 187 P.C. (Murder), was filed on Barba by Deputy District Attorney Wendy Moss.
