Hit & Run Driver Sought After Seriously Injuring Man in Crosswalk NR11370kr

Los Angeles: A 68-year-old man
was critically injured while walking in a crosswalk after being
struck by a sports utility vehicle. The driver never stopped.

On the evening of Sunday, July 31, 2011, at about 8:20 p.m., a
motorist in a black 1990 Ford Expedition traveling northbound on
Western Avenue struck the victim who was walking in the crosswalk
northbound on 48th Street. The motorist failed to stop to render
aid or identify themselves as required by law.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is being
treated for serious injuries that include two collapsed lungs,
multiple broken ribs and head trauma.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this
incident to contact South Traffic Division Detective Section,
