Stolen Painting from Art Gallery NR16237aj

San Pedro: Detectives from
the Los Angeles Police Department’s Art Theft Detail are asking for
the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for
the theft of a painting.

On Thursday, July 7, 2016, a painting was stolen from an art
gallery located at 6th Street and Pacific Avenue. After the gallery
had opened, five suspects entered the gallery and removed the
painting from the wall and fled the location.

The suspects were four males and a female, possibly white or
Hispanic, 18-24 years old. Two of the male suspects were carrying
skateboards. One male suspect with sunglasses was seen carrying the
painting. The female suspect was wearing a pink shirt. The suspects
fled the location southbound in an alley toward 7th Street.

The painting is a 3ft by 6ft mixed media on canvas by Neil Nagy
called “Escondido”. It was created in 2004 and is valued at
approximately $10,000 dollars.

A reward is being offered for the painting.
