Update On September 12, 2016, Los Angeles Police Department Operations Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives made an arrest for the murder of Justin Lishey, AKA Kid Cali, a recording artist from Los Angeles, California.

Suspect, nineteen year old Kenny Birdine (DOB: 09/22/96) of Inglewood California was arrested by detectives for First Degree Murder.

On September 13, 2016, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney Office. District Attorney filed First Degree Murder with a bail set as $3,065,000.00.

Due to the ongoing investigation, detectives are not releasing additional information at this time except that it was gang motivated.

Granada Hills: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for the murder of a 30 year old man and injurying two others.

On August 20, 2016, around 9 p.m., Devonshire officers responded to a radio call of shots fired, in the 12400 block of Longacre Avenue in Granada Hills.

When the officers arrived, they discovered the victim, a male Black, 30 years-old, suffering from a gun shot wound, in the back yard of the residence.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the victims were attending a party at a residence that was advertised on a social media website, with a fee being charged to attend the social media party. Witnesses stated that over 100 people had attended the party.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The other two victims were transported by private party. Both victims are in stable condition.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until notification of the victim’s next of kin.
