Fatal Hit and Run Hit, Involving Motorcycle vs. Truck Traffic Collision NR16266ti

Reseda: A Hit and Run Fatal
Traffic collision occurred in the area of Tampa Avenue and Vanowen
Street.

On August 24, 2016, around 6:45 a.m., a motorcycle described as a
2013 Kawasaki Ninja was driven by a male, 19-year-old, resident of
Thousand Oaks. The motorcycle was traveling southbound Tampa Avenue
and collided with the right side of a vehicle traveling northbound
Tampa Avenue conducting a left turn at the intersection of Vanowen
Street.

The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and as the result of the
collision died at the scene. The driver left the scene failing to
stop, render aid and exchange information as required by law.

The hit and run vehicle is described as an early 2000 white, 2
door, large pick-up, possibly Ford, GM or Dodge with a dump truck
style bed with short bed walls and a single axle with dual tires
and blue logo on the passenger door.

The hit and run driver and vehicle remain outstanding.

Notification to next of kin is pending.
