Oceanside Resident Stabbed and Dies of Injuries, LAPD Seeking Public’s Help in Finding Second Murder Suspect
Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives need the public’s help to locate a man wanted for the murder of an Oceanside resident.
On Sunday, August 3, 2008, at about 2:30 a.m., LAPD officers went to Olympic Boulevard and Hill Street to investigate a radio call for an “ambulance cutting.” An eyewitness at the scene saw the suspect hit the victim two times in the chest with an unknown weapon.
Another suspect, who was driving a white car, got out of his vehicle and went over to the fight. Both suspects got into the white car and drove away. The witness recorded the license plate of the vehicle and went to aid the victim. He saw that the victim had been stabbed in the chest and immediately called 9-1-1.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics treated the victim at the scene and transported him to a local hospital. The victim was pronounced dead at 10:00 a.m.
The victim was identified as 29-year-old Carlos Iglesias, an Oceanside resident.
The driver of the car was identified as 26-year-old Carlos Cordova, a Los Angeles resident. He was arrested and booked for murder.
Detectives are seeking 26-year-old Erick Colindres a Los Angeles resident, wanted for the murder of Cordova.
