The back is formed by one piece of maple, cut on the quarter, and is marked by
a mild, broad figure which slants downward from the right flank toward the left
across its breadth. The wood of the sides matches that of the back. The table is
cut from two pieces of spruce with very narrow grain at the center and widening
toward the flanks. The scroll is carved of plain maple. The varnish has a light
golden-brown color.
