Fatal Hit and Run with Pedestrian NR16048aj

Van Nuys: Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision, which killed a 73-year-old Asian woman dead.

On February 10, 2016, around 6:00 p.m., a dark color 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota, was traveling northbound on Hazeltine Avenue at the intersection of Valerio Street when it collided with a pedestrian crossing the street. The vehicle continued traveling northbound without stopping to render aid, and identifying him or herself, as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital. Despite life saving measures made by medical personnel, the victim was pronounced dead the following day.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld at this time until next-of-kin has been notified.
