Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police detectives are asking for the public's help to identify the person responsible for the shooting death of two pedestrians who were walking in the Arleta area.

On June 8, 2008, at about 2:20 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Foothill Division patrol officers responded to a radio call regarding a shooting at Truesdale Street and Dorrington Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a victim, 25-year-old Johnny Ray Lopez, who had been walking with a friend when a man on a bicycle approached and shot him several times in the abdomen. Paramedics were summoned to the scene and transported Lopez to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

When the shooting occurred, the second victim, who was walking with Lopez, immediately attempted to run away but was also wounded by gunfire and later treated at a local hospital and released.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, but it appears to be gang related.
