17-Year-Old Shot Accidentally

Los Angeles: On Thursday, January 6, 2004, at about 5:05 p.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 13800 block of Paxton Street in Pacoima.

Upon arrival the officers discovered a shooting victim being treated by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.

The investigation revealed the victim, a 17 year-old Hispanic male, a resident at the shooting location, was accidentally shot by a 13-year-old female relative, also a resident at the location. The weapon is in custody. The girl responsible for the shooting was questioned and released to her parents.
