Pacoima: On Saturday March 31, 2001, at 12:51 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call regarding shots fired in the 11100 block of Herrick Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim to be a 19 year old male Hispanic. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds in a confrontation with suspects on the street. The victim was pronounced dead by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics. The motive is unknown at this time but the murder is gang related. The victims name will not be released pending notification of the next of kin.
