"Murder of Foothill Residence Being Investigated"

Foothill – On Saturday, August 19, 2000, at approximately 5:38 p.m., North Hollywood Patrol officers responded to a "Possible 187 investigation" on the 7200 block of Bakman Avenue in Sun Valley. Upon the officer’s arrival, they discovered the body of Arnolfo Mendoza, male Hispanic, 21-years of age, dead at the scene. Mr. Mendoza was lying on the bathroom floor with multiple stabbing wounds to his upper torso.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the Mr. Mendoza had been drinking throughout the evening with several individuals at a residence. An argument erupted between Mendoza and two brothers, Efrain Soriano, male Hispanic, 32-years of age and Miguel Soriano, male Hispanic, 38-years of age. The brothers armed themselves with knives and attacked Mendoza, stabbing him several times. The suspects fled the scene, and are possibly enroute to Mexico.
