Crisis Response Team Information

Crisis Response Teams are groups of trained volunteers who are on call to provide immediate, short-term on-scene crisis intervention, emotional support and referrals to families, neighbors, witnesses and/or survivors who have been traumatized by the experience of a death, a serious injury or a violent crime.

A CRT volunteer will provide the necessary temporary support to the family until they are able to depend on family, friends or neighbors. CRT volunteers assist by being a supportive presence and serving as the liaison between the family and emergency personnel. They may also help arrange for or provide referrals to appropriate agencies for shelter, clothing, child-care or transportation services.

The Crisis Response Team is a program of the Mayor's Department on Homeland Security and Public Safety. Please contact the CRT Manager for further information at 213-978-0697 or Email: jeffrey.zimerman@lacity.org.
