Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance Led by Mary Gant, standing in for Co-Chairs, Mona Sutton and Leslie Jones.

Crime update:
Senior Lead Officer Helen Palares thanked everyone for attending the C PAB meeting tonight. Crime down 18.7 %, down 6%
All Crimes. Harbor Division leads the City in the lowest Crime Stats.

Thanked everyone having Neighborhood Watch meetings. The information being reported to her and the Harbor Division is invaluable.

Reported all Fireworks are illegal, SLO Anna Pinell and herself have been in training this week with the Bomb Squad regarding explosives over the 4th of July. We are the eyes and ears of the Community if we see something
suspicious contact the Police Department and report it.

COP 101 this month was Use of Force training by, Officer Tony Lobato. He does in Service Training for our officers. A very interesting and informative presentation was given. Officer Lobato answered all our questions regarding Use of Force and more.

Emergency Preparedness: Battalion Chief Timothy Kerbrat from the Los Angeles Fire Department discussed Disaster Awareness Course as a overview of the CERT Program. Our next C-PAB meeting will host a Disaster Awareness Course at 6:30 pm. C-PAB will be a little longer than usual that nite to answer questions after the Firefighter’s presentation.

Gloria Lockhart on behalf of Toberman House thanked C-PAB for donated Food contributed tonite.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm, Next C PAB Meeting July 17, 2008 at 6:30
