Los Angeles: On July 1, 2003, at about 12:50 a.m., 15 year-old Desirree Haro was walking with a group of friends in an alley near the intersection of 253rd Street and Normandie Avenue. The teenagers were standing in the street when a car, that was seen earlier cruising in the neighborhood, drive by the group. Suddenly, several shots rang out. As the car sped off, Haro fell to the pavement, a homicide victim of a drive-by shooting.
The Los Angeles City Council has approved a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the death of Desirree Haro. The County of Los Angeles is also offering a reward of $10,000.
