31 Year-Old Died from Gunshot Wounds

Los Angeles: On Monday, December 2, 2002, at approximately 4:05 p.m., 31 year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez and his wife were driving westbound in the alley to the rear of 718 West 37th Street. A Maroon or Burgundy Toyota or Honda was driving eastbound in the same alley. As the vehicle passed the victims’ vehicle, unknown suspect(s) fired two rounds at the victims. Gonzalez, the driver of the vehicle, was struck by the gunfire.
On Monday, December 2, 2002, at approximately 4:05 p.m., 31 year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez and his wife were driving westbound in the alley to the rear of 718 West 37 Street. A Maroon or Burgundy Toyota or Honda was driving eastbound in the same alley. As the vehicle passed the victims’ vehicle, unknown suspect(s) fired two rounds at the victims. Gonzalez, the driver of the vehicle, was struck by the gunfire.
 

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harbor/UCLA Medical Center and he was placed on life support.
 
On Tuesday, December 3, 2002, Gonzalez was taken off life support and died at 5:17 p.m. Gonzalez’ wife was not injured during the shooting.
 
The motive is unknown and the suspect(s) have not been identified.
