$25,000 Reward Announced for Homicide Suspects

When: Thursday, January 30, 2003, at 1:00 p.m.

Los Angeles: On Saturday, December 28, 2002, at approximately 10:55 a.m., Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a possible homicide at 9405 Sierra Mar Place in the Hollywood Hills. Preliminary investigation revealed that a friend of the deceased had arrived at the residence that morning, only to discover the victim dead in the living room. The friend contacted a neighbor, who called 9-1-1.

Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Subsequent investigation by the detectives revealed that the victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound during a possible robbery at his residence. The victim has been identified as Robert Michael Lubin, 56 years of age, and a resident of Los Angeles. Hollywood Area Homicide Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in apprehending two suspects who are responsible for this murder. The detectives will release two composite drawings of the suspects, as well as information regarding a $25,000.00 reward, sponsored by Los Angeles City Councilman Jack Weiss, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these killers.

Deputy Chief David Kalish, Commanding Officer of Operations West Bureau and Captain Michael Downing, Commanding Officer of Hollywood Area will conduct the press conference along with family members of the victim.
