Argument Results In Shooting Death

Los Angeles: On Sunday, November 17, 2002, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a call of a shooting incident in the 500 block of North Wilton Place. When the officers arrived, they discovered that a 22 year-old male had sustained numerous gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been walking on the street with some friends when a car pulled up and two male Hispanics got out of the vehicle and approached them. Unknown words were exchanged and one suspect fired several shots that struck the victim. The suspects fled in a vehicle. The vehicle is described only as being dark gray or black in color. The suspects are described as two male Hispanics in their 20’s. The motive appears to be gang related at this time.
The victim has been identified as Willie Yee Alfonso, a 22 year-old resident of Hollywood.
