Hollywood Rolls Out the Blue Carpet for Safety NA09203SF

WHAT:    News conference to announce additional LAPD officers dedicated to serve the Hollywood community.

WHY:    In the early 2000’s, the Hollywood community invested $2 billion to restore and revitalize the iconic city.  The areas surrounding Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue increased in popularity as a worldwide destination, and the LAPD recognized the need to ensure public safety.  During the news conference, Mayor Villaraigosa and Chief Bratton will announce the deployment of additional officers and resources to the Hollywood area to continue the reduction of crime and to increase the quality of life for those who work, live and visit the entertainment capital of the world.
    
Following the news conference, media is welcomed to follow the foot-beat officers as they visit local businesses and distribute resource guides.  

PARKING:    Media van parking will be allowed on the north curb of Hollywood Boulevard.
