Two Party Bus Passengers Struck by Gunfire NR13487rh

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide Detectives investigating the murder of 23-year-old Travius Shearer have made two arrests.

On November 8, 2013, around 11:40 p.m., Hollywood officers responded to a shooting on Sunset Boulevard and El Centro Avenue.  A dispute erupted on the sidewalk next to a party bus. After the dispute unknown suspect(s) fired several rounds and two victims were struck by gunfire.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Shearer a resident of Los Angeles, to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The second 19-year-old victim, also a resident of Los Angeles, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.  Both victims were passengers on the party bus.

The investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Deondie Wilson, a resident of Lynwood and a 17-year-old juvenile.  Both were booked for murder.  The case will be presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney for filing consideration on Tuesday.

Detectives are seeking help from the community on this case. Citizens and businesses located near the scene are urged to preserve any video surveillance of this incident and contact the LAPD.
