The Puck Stops Here as LAPD Faces Off Against NYPD in a Bi-Coastal Hockey Challenge

Los Angeles: On February 2, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s ice hockey team will challenge New York’s finest in a hockey game preceding the NHL All-Star game. The game will be played on a special rink prepared inside the LA Convention Center. NHL alum Peter Stastny will be presenting awards to both teams after the game.
Following the game, representatives from both teams will participate in the opening ceremony of the NHL All-Star Game at the STAPLES Center at noon.
On Thursday January 31, 2002, approximately twenty members of the NYPD hockey team will be arriving at LAX . The media is invited to join the LAPD as we welcome our brother officers to Los Angeles.
New York’s finest will be arriving on: United Airlines Flight NO. 897, from New York at 10:06 am.
