Retiring LAPD Detective Honored NR11028ne

San Diego: On January 13, 2011, Los Angeles Police Detective Federico “Fred” Sicard was honored at a luncheon sponsored by the International Liaison Officers Association (ILOA).

On January 27, 2011, Detective Sicard will be retiring from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) after thirty years of dedicated service.  Sicard’s last assignment was with the Foreign Prosecution Liaison Unit (FPLU) where he assisted other countries locate suspects in Los Angeles.  Sicard was presented with a certificate on behalf of the association in recognition for his achievements throughout the year.  Assistant Commanding Officer Gang and Narcotics, Rigoberto Romero, LAPD, spoke about Sicard’s career with the Department.  Lieutenant Lee Sands, the entire FPLU and others were in attendance to honor Detective Sicard.

“I’m very honored to have received this award from the Department of Justice.  I took great pride in serving the residents of Los Angeles for the past 30 years” said Sicard.

Detective Sicard began his career with the LAPD in 1981 and promoted to the rank of Detective in 1990.  Sicard is married with two children and two grandkids.
