Why:
The Los Angeles City Council approved Councilman Zine’s motion to transfer $679,830.67 from the third council district portion of the Street Furniture Revenue Fund to the LAPD to purchase and install mobile, wireless security cameras in council district third.  The systems are now fully operational in the West Valley and Topanga Areas.

Of the LAPD surveillance camera systems that are located throughout the City of Los Angeles, this is the only system in which the video signal is transmitted wirelessly through Verizon 4G technology.
