July 9, 2001

Los Angeles – On Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at 2:45 P.M., Captain Thomas Maeweather, Commanding Officer, Newton Community Police Station, will surprise Officer Stefany Carson when he deploys her father, Officer Wayne Carson, as her partner for the night shift. Officer Wayne Carson joined the Los Angeles Police Department on March 18, 1974. After numerous assignments throughout his 27-year career, he is currently assigned to Uniform Support Division. He cherishes the opportunity to cap his service career by patrolling the streets of Newton Area with his daughter. Officer Stefany Carson joined the LAPD on September 29, 1997, and is currently assigned as a patrol officer at Newton Division. She will continue the LAPD tradition for the Carson family.
The father/daughter team will be deployed for PM Watch, at 2:45 P.M., at Newton Street Police Station. The Station is located at 3400 S Central Avenue, Los Angeles 90011.
