47 Year-Old Man Shot and Killed

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at about 9:15 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 9375 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers gathered information that the victim, 47 year-old Juan Manzano, a resident of Sylmar, walked into a clinic and told the staff that someone had shot him.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the chest but died during medical treatment. The responding officers were unable to ascertain the location of the crime or the description of the suspect(s).
The motive for the shooting and the suspect(s) identity are unknown at this time.
