Why:A press conference to announce a $100,000 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for LAPD Vice Division.Grant monies will be allocated to investigate problematic ABC businesses as well as to educate bar, liquor store and restaurant employees about current alcohol laws.
Additional:The Las Palmas Inn was made to close its doors on March 14, 2005, due to several alcoholic beverage violations.This location was also the scene of a 2004 homicide involving a dispute between two patrons over a narcotics transaction.
