"Homicide Occurs Outside East L.A. Skill Center"

East Los Angeles: On Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at 1:00 p.m., Hollenbeck Uniformed Officers responded to a shooting call on the 2100 Marengo Street. A 17 year old male Hispanic victim was exiting the East Los Angeles Skill Center, and was walking with the suspect who is described as a male Hispanic, 15/20 years of age, 5-6/5-8, thin built, medium complexion, wearing a white T shirt. As the victim and suspect were crossing Cummings Street, the suspect shot the victim multiple times for unknown reason with an unknown caliber handgun. The suspect then fled the location southbound towards the railroad tracks and then continued westbound out of sight.

Los Angeles City Fire Rescue Ambulance responded to the crime scene and provided the victim with emergency medical treatment. The victim was transported to USC Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is being handle by Detective Ricky Peterson, Hollenbeck Detectives. Anyone with information should contact him at 323-526-3011.
