Two Shot at Bus Stop; One Dies

Los Angeles: On Monday, June 9, 2003, at about 2:35 p.m., 23 year-old Carlos Morales Lopez was at the bus stop at the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Brooks Avenue.
An unidentified man, armed with a gun, approached Lopez and shot him multiple times. A second victim, a 52 year-old White female, was also struck by gunfire.
Lopez was taken to a local hospital where he died. The second victim was also taken to a local hospital where she was treated and admitted in critical condition.
The motive for this crime appears to be gang retaliation. There are no suspects in custody and no weapons have been recovered.
The investigation is on going and is being conducted by Pacific Area Homicide Detectives.
