Teen Injured in Hit and Run Accident

Los Angeles: A 17-year-old teen suffered major injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Playa Del Rey on Saturday.

On, June 16, 2007, at about 9:35 p.m., the juvenile, who's identity is being withheld due to his age, was attempting to cross Vista Del Mar, North of Imperial Highway. A vehicle travelling southbound on Vista Del Mar hit the teen, but did not stop after the collision. The impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown approximately 17 feet through the air, resulting in blunt force trauma injuries to the victim.

The hit and run vehicle was described as a black BMW, possible convertible. It sustained right front-end damage and is missing the right front light.

West Traffic Division is conducting the investigation. The publics help is requested in identifying the suspect and suspect's vehicle.
