Gang Gunfire Kills Los Angeles Man

Los Angeles: A Los Angeles man was shot and killed Monday as he approached four men standing on a street corner.

On Monday, June 18, 2007, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Anthony Jenkins was walking in the area of 4100 W. 41st Place. As he approached the corner of 41st Place and Walton Avenue, one of four gang members standing at the corner pulled out a handgun and fired three rounds at Jenkins.

Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics treated Jenkins at scene and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives believe this was a gang-related homicide.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Bureau Homicide Detective Jim Yoshida or Corey Farell at 213-485-2417 during normal business hours. After hours and on weekends, phone the 24-hour toll free Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAW-FULL (529-3855).
