19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Traffic Collision NR12284kr

Los Angeles:   A young woman was killed Wednesday morning after the car she was riding in was hit by another car that crossed into oncoming traffic.

On Wednesday, June 20, 2012, around 11:45 a.m., Valley Traffic Division Officers were called to investigate a traffic collision that occurred near Glenoaks Boulevard and Truesdale Street in Sun Valley.  

Pacoima resident, 18-year-old Jesus Felix, was driving a gray, 2002 Volkswagen Passat south on Glenoaks Boulevard when he lost control, just north of Truesdale Street, and crossed into oncoming traffic.  He collided with a gray, 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was travelling north on Glenoaks Boulevard, being driven by a 53-year-old man from Burbank.  

A 19-year-old passenger in Felix’ car, Dana Corleto of Pacoima, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition by Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel.  She died shortly after arriving.  The Tacoma driver was treated and released with minor injuries.

Felix was also transported the hospital with minor injuries and subsequently arrested for Felony Vehicular Manslaughter.  He is being held on $50,000 bail.
