62-year-old Man Dies as a Result of Hit-and- Run NR13187st

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the hit-and- driver that was responsible for the death of a 62-year-old Los Angeles resident.

On Friday, May 17, 2013, at around 9:15 p.m., 62-year-old Rogelio Vera was walking across Sunset Boulevard in the west crosswalk at Maltman Avenue when he was struck by a pick-up truck. Witnesses described the vehicle as a newer model, blue or black, Ford F-250 or F-350 crew cab pick-up truck; unknown license plate number. The driver of this vehicle failed to stop and provide identification or render aid as required by law. The truck was last seen traveling east on Sunset Boulevard.

Vera sustained extensive blunt force injuries and was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital where he remained until his death on May 29th.
