WHY:
The LAPD Boxing Team will host a media availability workout to promote an upcoming charity boxing event.  The “Battle at the Academy”, is a boxing tournament, pitting LAPD boxers against challengers from throughout the region.  The event is scheduled to take place at the Los Angeles Police Academy on July 6th at 4:00 p.m.

This Wednesday, June 19th, the fighters will be working out, sparring and providing interviews to raise awareness of the Police Activities League (PAL) program for the youth and to help raise funds for the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation.

Uniformed Officers, boxers, and professional trainers will be on hand for demonstrations and interviews. The event will be conducted, in association with USA Boxing, and the Los Angeles Police Revolver and Athletic Club (LAPRAAC).

Fighters from:  Big Bear City FD, Santa Monica FD, Pasadena PD, California Department of Corrections, San Bernardino Sheriffs Department, LA County Sheriffs Department, and the U.S. Marshalls, are all scheduled to participate.
