LAPD Women’s Running Team Takes Top Honors

In the 25th running of the Baker to Vegas Relay Race, the LAPD Women’s Running Team represented themselves and the Department well in taking top honors. In the women’s category, the team finished the 120 mile course in 16 hours, 18 minutes and 36 seconds. With 10 teams in their division, the team finished 14 minutes in front of their nearest competitor.

“I am so proud to represent the LAPD and I’m very proud of each of the ladies,” said Detective Martee Miyakawa, team captain. “The support we have received has been wonderful!”

For finishing first, each member of the team receives a commemorative Baker to Vegas mug and a ring with the event logo. After a three year hiatus, the Women’s Running Team plans on continuing its tradition of competitive greatness for years to come.
