Venice School High Students Arrested for Sex Crimes NR15080nv

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department detectives have arrested nine Venice High School students for various unlawful sexual acts with two underage female victims.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, school administrators notified Operation West Bureau Special Assault Section detectives of possible sex crimes involving students. Investigators have since learned that these incidents spanned from December of 2013 to March of 2015. Investigators have identified 14 subjects and determined the sex crimes occurred on and off the campus of Venice High School.

This morning, LAPD detectives along with the Los Angeles School Police Department made a total of nine arrests for 602 WIC/ 288(A)PC and 602 WIC 288(A)(B)(1)PC. The subjects' ages range from 14 to 17 years old. Eight of those arrests occurred on the Venice High School campus and one occurred off campus.

In an effort to protect the victims, all subjects were arrested at Venice High School and transported to Pacific Area Station for booking. The investigation is still ongoing and detectives will continue to interview all parties involved as well as collect any additional evidence.
