Business Robbery Suspect Caught on Camera NR16147lp

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Olympic Area Robbery Unit detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect captured on surveillance video committing several business robberies.

Between April 23, 2016 and April 29, 2016, the suspect committed three robberies and two attempted robberies that occurred in Olympic Area. The locations of these crimes were in the 3300 block of West Pico Boulevard, in the 1700 block of South Western Avenue (robbed twice), in the 1500 block of South Western Avenue, and in the 2200 block of West Washington Boulevard.

In each one of these cases, the suspect causally walked into the businesses carrying bags that he placed on the cashier's counters. The suspect then lifted up his sweatshirt brandishing a handgun while ordering employees to place money in the bag. The suspect made away with a large amount of money from the three robberies. The suspect was last seen fleeing on a BMX bike.

The suspect is described as a male Black, between 20 and 30 years old. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.
