Shooting Leaves One Dead in Hollywood NR17149aj

Hollywood: The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Hollywood.

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, around 11:00 p.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1500 block of Wilcox Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in an alley next to an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim had jumped out of a one-story apartment.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Brian Delatorre, a resident of Hollywood.

The suspects kicked in the victim’s apartment door. One of the suspects then shot the victim. The suspects were described as two male Hispanics, 20-30 years old. One suspect was wearing a Dodger style jacket.

Officers detained two men that fit the description near Selma Avenue and Ivar Avenue. Both men were transported to LAPD Hollywood Station.

The shooting is possibly gang related and the investigation is ongoing.
