DETAILS: The Annual LAPD Baseball Swing-A-Thon Event was created in 2001 to bring police officers, our youth, and the community together through America’s favorite past time. The event promotes a positive lifestyle, physical fitness, sports, and team work amongst our youth. Our “Just Say No!” pledge campaign is presented at this event and it is estimated that 700+ kids will simultaneously take the pledge to say no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying.

Other event activities include a free youth baseball, football, and soccer clinics given by the LAPD sports teams. There will also be interactive games, public safety displays, community booths and other contests for great prizes and giveaways. For the grand finale, there will be a LAPD vs. L.A. Sheriff’s baseball game to settle a rivalry that dates back 128 years.
