Male Driver Shot Causing a Traffic Collision NR17175aj

Panorama City: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of a male. On June 9, 2017, around 2:00 a.m., officers received a radio call of a traffic collision in the 14700 block of Plummer Street in Panorama City.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and observed a minivan stopped in the middle of the street with four male occupants. The minivan had collided with several parked vehicles. The driver had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at scene. The front passenger also sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Two rear passengers were transported to a local area hospital due to injuries caused by the collision. One of the rear passengers was listed in critical condition. The other rear passenger was treated and released from the hospital.

Valley Bureau Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility. The investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle striking the driver and front passenger. Due to the fatal gunshot wounds to the driver, he lost control of his vehicle and collided with several parked vehicles.

Two of the four victims have been identified as gang members.

The driver has not been positively identified at this time. All four victims are residents of the San Fernando Valley.
