Arrest of Shooting Suspect NR22258bb

San Pedro: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Area Gang Impact Team Detectives have made an arrest in connection with the shooting of a 13-year-old boy and 19-year-old
female.

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, around 11:50 p.m., a physical altercation broke out in the 300 block of West 1st Street, San Pedro.

During this incident a 15-year-old female retrieved a firearm from her backpack and discharged it striking the two victims. Both victims were treated at a local hospital and have subsequently been released.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified the 15-year-old suspect through a course of surveillance footage and witness interviews.

On Tuesday, September 6, 2022 detectives located and arrested the 15-year-old female, a resident of Los Angeles, for her involvement in the shooting.

She was subsequently booked for 602 WIC 245(B)PC-Assault with a Semi-Automatic Firearm and transferred to Eastlake Juvenile Hall.

This case will be presented on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
