Between January 19, 2017 and April 9, 2017, a series of residential burglaries occurred in the Boyle Heights Area. The burglaries occurred early in the morning between 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. while the victims were sleeping. The suspect(s) would enter the residence through an unlocked door or window. The suspect(s) would then go through the rooms in the house and take the victim's property.

Another suspect has been described as a male, possibly Hispanic, between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds in his early 20s.

Hollenbeck Burglary Detectives are alerting and advising the community to please make sure that all their doors and windows are locked and secured. Replace broken lighting and always be aware of your surroundings. Install or maintain surveillance cameras. Speak with your neighbors and report any suspicious activity in or around your property.

The Los Angeles Police Department also wants to let the public know that it does not investigate, report or inform other agencies of a witness' immigration status. It is important to the investigation of these burglaries that victims and witnesses come forward to report these incidents without fear of penalty or deportation.
